DELUXE ENGRAVED WESTLEY RICHARDS MARTINI SINGLE SHOT RIFLE. Cal. 577/450. SN 7508. Beautiful deluxe rifle with 30” rnd bbl, with full flat top, matted rib, ramp front sight, and the very rare, 7-leaf platinum-line rear sight graduated to 1,200 yards. Rib has maker’s name & address. Mounted with very nicely figured, streaky, checkered French walnut with horn insert schnable tip forearm & horn insert pistol grip stock, 14-1/8” over a smooth steel buttplate with trap. Receiver is very nicely & tastefully engraved with light arabesque patterns and raised, gold inlays of a rider on a camel in front of the pyramids of Giza on left side with the three pyramids and a Sphinx in raised gold on right side. Left side also has the maker’s name & address in flush gold & right side has “Martini Patent” in flush gold. Bottom left edge of receiver has serial number in flush gold and it is also on left side of bbl with a gold band at chamber end. Lever & trigger bow are engraved to match. Accompanied by a box containing 9-rds of Kynoch ammunition with patched bullets. CONDITION: Very fine. Metal retains most of its strong, orig finish with some thinning on left side of chamber area of bbl. Lever & breechblock retain most of their strong case colors, slightly faded. Wood is sound and retains most of a beautiful, professionally restored finish with freshened checkering. Mechanics are fine, bright shiny bore. 4-30648 JR280 (3,500-5,000)
