PIED PIPER 10 PIN SET BY W.S. REED TOY COMPANY. A fine early paper lithographed toy depicting the Pied Piper fairy tale. Typical of Reed, the color lithography was somewhat more muted than its competitors, however box lid and figures have outstanding detailing and appeal to the collector as well as the child of the time period. The European version features 9 pins, the American version features 10 pins. One would set up the pins and then roll one of the wooden balls to see how many figures they could knock down. All contained within a wooden box (some damage/loss to wooden box). SIZE: Figures approx 8-1/2″ t. Box 12-1/2″ x 8-1/4″ x 4″. CONDITION: Overall very good plus, a few scrapes/paper loss to some figures. Overall minor soiling to color lithograph. 1-9416 (1,000-1,500)
