*REMINGTON MARK III SIGNAL PISTOL WITH EXTREMELY RARE ORIGINAL HOLSTER & CARTRIDGE BELT.

*REMINGTON MARK III SIGNAL PISTOL WITH EXTREMELY RARE ORIGINAL HOLSTER & CARTRIDGE BELT. SN S11-853. Cal. 10 ga. Special Flare Ctg. Blue & brass with 9″ rnd bbl without sights, marked on top with the nomenclature and company name & address. It has a tip-up style action with automatic extractor. mounted on a flat-side brass frame with spur trigger which is mounted with 2-pc smooth walnut grips. Pistol was made in fairly large numbers in the period 1915-1918 and is considered a curio and relic under BATFE regulations. This pistol is accompanied by an extremely rare olive drab canvas holster with bound edges and leather tip with web belt brass wire hanger and has stud & snap closure. Inside the flap is stamped in ink “PROGRESSIVE / APRIL —–“. Also accompanied by an orig Mills type olive drab canvas belt with blued steel fittings and brass 2-pc bucket/latch, that is stamped in ink under one tab “U.S.N. / SIGNAL CARTRIDGE BELT / MARK I / A.L. SIEGEL CO., INC. / 1943”. Belt is approx. 42″ long with adjustments at each end and a row of eight grommets on bottom edge of each side plus 32 canvas 10 ga. sized loops. While the signal pistols are not uncommon, the holster and cartridge belt are extraordinarily rare, especially in crisp orig condition such as this one. CONDITION: Pistol is very fine. Bbl retains 88-90% dull orig blue and frame about 50% orig bright polish with balance a dark brownish mustard patina. Grips are sound with light nicks & scratches and retain most orig finish on right side and dark hand patina on left side. Mechanics are fine, strong bore, probably unfired. Belt & holster are crisp & new, obviously never issued, retaining virtually all of their orig factory finish with very slight flaked losses on leather holster tip and some verdigris around grommet in the tip.
