RARE WINCHESTER MODEL 1876 LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 50 Express. SN 45007. Beautiful standard grade rifle with 26” oct bbl, full magazine, half nickel front sight and semi-buckhorn rear sight that has been filed flat. The dust cover is marked “Winchester Express / 50 Cal 95 GRS”. It has uncheckered wood with straight stock and crescent buttplate. Accompanied by a Cody Firearms Museum letter identifying this rifle and indicating shipment on June 3, 1885 to Order #21046. CONDITION: Extraordinarily fine, as new. Retains virtually all of its original bright factory finish to both metal & wood with only very minor flaking on the dust cover, a few lines on the right sideplate and a few flakes on the left front of the receiver and a small flaked spot on the left sideplate. Lever & hammer retain most of their original bright case colors, turning silver on the loop. Buttplate retains traces of original blue with the balance flaked to a light patina. Wood is sound with one long & two small bruises by the left toe and other small marks elsewhere and retains about all of its bright original factory varnish. Loading gate retains about 98% bright niter blue. Brilliant shiny bore. 4-51492 JR900 (22,500-32,500)
