MARTIALLY MARKED MODEL 1860 HENRY LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 44 RF Henry. SN 3285. Fine martial Henry with 24-1/4″ oct bbl, integral magazine, German silver front sight and 2nd type 1,000-yard Henry ladder rear sight in the rear seat. No seat is cut in the receiver. The right side of the bbl is marked “C.G.C.” with a tiny “H” and the receiver is marked with a tiny “H” and a “C”. The left heel of the buttplate has a partial “H” inspector mark with another small “H” at the left heel of the stock and the right side of the wrist has a very faint, almost indistinguishable, outline of the cartouche. All matching numbers with the serial number appearing on the left side of the lower tang under the wood in the top tang channel of the stock and inside the toe of the buttplate. The screws appear to be all orig Henry screws except the lower tang screw, which is a replacement. The left side of the buttstock and bbl have factory sling loops and with the distinctive “Henry bump” below the stock swivel. It has an old replacement orig style leather sling. CONDITION: Fine. Bbl retains about 60% dark plum/brown patina, thin toward the receiver at the carry point with small nicks & dings and some light surface pitting on the right side of the bbl. Receiver is a medium dark mustard patina with small nicks, dings & scratches and some hammer marks on the left side at the top of the sideplate. Appears to have been cleaned a long time ago. Stock is sound with moderate nicks & scratches and a couple of bruises and minor chipping near the toe with a deeper bruise by the lower tang and retains 40-50% orig finish with the balance a dark patina. Mechanics are fine, strong bore with moderate pitting. Sling is fine. 4-54952 JR123 (30,000-50,000)
