SHARPS MODEL 1874 SPORTING RIFLE. Cal. 40-50 Sharps Bottleneck. SN 155022. Beautiful sporting rifle with 32″ oct bbl, Sharps front sight with altered blade and a standard Lawrence Patent ladder rear sight with a sporting rifle tang sight with windage bar. Bbl has std Hartford markings. Mounted with uncheckered, nicely figured, American walnut with pewter tipped rnd forearm and straight stock with carbine or musket style steel buttplate. Receiver has usual markings on left side. Lockplate is unmarked. CONDITION: Extremely fine, all matching including stock, forearm & buttplate. Bbl retains most of its orig factory blue with only minor muzzle edge wear and some miniscule nicks on sharp edges. Receiver, lockplate & lever retain most of their orig factory case colors, brilliant in sheltered areas, moderately faded elsewhere. Wood is sound and retains most of a beautiful finish.
