W.H. LAWSER & BROS CAPE GUN. Cal 10 ga / 45. English made combination gun with 32” Damascus bbls with the left being smooth bore and the right side rifled. The rib has fixed sights. It is mounted in a 1-pc stock with front action locks marked on both sides with the distributor’s name and “HARRISBURG”. It has iron fittings with German silver wedge escutcheons, a checkered straight wrist and tiny cheekpiece with 7 small mother of pearl inlays. The buttplate is brass and semi-crescent with a faceted tang. Most unusual, however, is the engraved patchbox on the right side made of 3 pieces of brass with a German silver lid. CONDITION: Fair to good. No original finish remains. Bbls and iron are a medium to heavy patina with traces of the original damascus pattern in the bbl. Stock has a couple of hairlines in back of the lockplates and a repaired toe. Otherwise shows heavy wear with numerous handing and use marks. Ramrod appears to be original. Mechanics are fine with a replaced screw on the left side. 4-50727 JR34 (400-600)
