LARGE CLOSED MOUTH BRU BEBE. Circa 1890 French doll with the head incised “BRU. J. neR 12″ with blue glass paperweight eyes, closed mouth with delicately outlined lips, finely painted eyebrows and eyelashes, pierced ears. On original fully jointed wood and composition body. Nicely re-costumed in antique silk material and braided jacket, melting to silk on the skirt. She wears a newer brown human hair wig over the original cork pate and whole French leather shoes with metallic buckles. SIZE: 27-1/2” (69cm). CONDITION: Bisque head in excellent condition with one minor kiln dust speckling on nose. Body repainted with paint lifting on legs. Small chip at neck socket. 1-7881 (7,000-9,000)
