Cal. 28ga, 28″ bbls, matted, tapered concave rib with single ivory sighting bead, 2-3/4″ chamber, Briley choke tubes, ejectors and dbl triggers. Top of right bbl in gold “MADE TO ORDER – AH FOX”, left bbl “KRUPP FLUID STEEL”. Muzzles have narrow gold band and 1″ wedge of foliate scroll. Chamber end has narrow gold band and 2″ wedge of foliate scroll. Flats are marked in gold “FE SPECIAL” as well as serial number. Forend lug marked “CT. SHOTGUN MFG. / NEW BRITAIN, CT. U.S.A.” The scalloped and rebated frame is wonderfully engraved with foliate scrolls with shaded background, ribbon marked in gold on each side “ANSLEY H. FOX”. Left side has 2 flushing grouse in gold, right side 2 flushing quail in gold, gold pointer on bottom, gold quail in flight on trigger bow, gold woodcock in flight on top lever pivot. Trigger plate on left side of trigger is marked “J.R. DEMUNCK” and right side “LEE R. GRIFFITHS”. Serial number and safe also in gold. Water table is engraved with foliate scroll and gold serial number and “FE SPECIAL”. Inside forend iron is engraved with foliate scroll and gold serial number over “FE SPECIAL”. Mounted with highly figured fiddle-back walnut, checkered side panels with fleur-de-lis, checkered round pistol grip with fleur-de-lis, checkered butt with fleur-de-lis, foliate-engraved skeleton plate with gold wire borders, fully checkered small beavertail forend with fleur-de-lis. Bore diameter: left -.545, right -.545. Bore restrictions: left -Briley, right -Briley. Wall thickness: left -.030, right -.028. Drop at heel: 2-5/8″, drop at comb:1-1/2″ . Weight: 5lbs. 10oz. LOP 14-3/8″. Accompanied with leather luggage case, burgundy interior with A.H. Fox label. Accessories: a total of 7 Briley tubes with wrench and salmon-colored canvas cover. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Bbls retain 98-99% orig blue, a couple minor handling marks, and rub marks from forend. Receiver retains 98% orig dark case coloring. Stock is sound with sharp checkering, a couple minor handling marks and retains its fine orig hand-rubbed oil finish. Forend is sound with sharp checkering, a couple minor handling marks and retains its fine hand-rubbed oil finish. Mechanics are crisp with automatic safety, strong ejectors and nice shiny bores.
