CENTENNIAL PHILADELPHIA CARVED MAHOGANY BALL-AND-CLAWFOOT ARMCHAIR. Last quarter 19th century. Molded serpentine crest rail with scrolled molded ears carved with leaftips, joined to the interwoven Gothic splat. The shaped serpentine arms with molded grips and scrolling volutes centering a trapezoidal slip seat and molded frame, the astragal-arched apron with central shell carving, the frontal cabriole legs with acanthus-carved knees, terminating in ball-and-claw feet. SIZE: 41″ h. of back. 18-1/2″ h. of seat, 23″ w. of seat. CONDITION: Restored and repolished, with original seat frame. 9-95263 (300-500)
