PATENT MODEL: MANUFACTURE OF ILLUMINATING GAS BY CHARLES GEARING. Original patent tag #140,264, dated June 24, 1873. Brass and tin dome-top furnace with various pipes and hinge-top lid. SIZE: 10″ l. x 10-1/4″ h. x 8″ d. CONDITION: Hinged lid shows some distress, one hole in side, presumably where pipe has broken off, otherwise generally good. 1-1328 (600-900)
