RARE AND UNUSUAL AMERICAN DOME-TOP WALLPAPERED TRUNK, THIRD QUARTER 19TH CENTURY. The dome-top rectangular pine trunk, the exterior covered in wallpaper of the period depicting hearts and stars, the ends fitted with cast-iron handles, the interior lined with early broadsides for a menagerie depicting events of horsemanship, flying-rope, tight-rope, and still-vaulting. SIZE: 15-1/2”h x 31-1/2”l x 20”d. CONDITION: Structurally in good condition with shrinkage seam crack in top, the exterior wallpaper showing moderate wear and losses, the interior wallpaper and broad sides in very nice condition. 9-90775 MD (900-1,200)
