ORIENTAL “LOWESTOFT” ARMORIAL TEAPOT. 19th century. Teapot of bulbous form decorated with armorial crest incorporating a lion rampant within a shield beneath helmet beneath leopard head beneath banner in which is written “ESSAYEZ” beneath floral garlands and swags. Domed lid with knop. SIZE: 6-1/2″ h. PROVENANCE: From the private collection of Dorothy-Lee Jones. CONDITION: With roughness to edge of spout and with small losses to enamel paint within each crest. With wear to gilding on spout and handle. Otherwise very good. 9-23254 (500-800)
