*EXTREMELY RARE SPRINGFIELD M1922 HEAVY BARREL INTERNATIONAL MATCH RIFLE. SN 2010. Cal. 22LR. This rifle is from the famous Burt Kellerstadt Collection and 1 of only 12 manufactured with work done at U.S.M.C. Small Arms Arsenal in Phil, PA. Fabulous & rare Springfield International Match rifle with 29-1/2″ tapered heavy rnd bbl with heavy, tall front sight band with a Winchester globe front sight. Top of bbl & receiver ring are drilled & tapped for scope blocks. Receiver bridge is mounted with a Lyman 48S target sight with target mounts. This rifle is built on an orig M1922 receiver with M1 bolt that has the orig headless striker & a single firing pin contact. Mounted in a 1924 style international match straight grain American walnut stock with uncheckered wide forestock having an adjustable sling rail & loop on bottom. This rifle has a 1903 trigger guard with the magazine well mounted with a USMC base for its orig USMC cork ball palm rest. Also mounted with woody type dbl set triggers. Butt has an extended checkered wrist with straight comb & sling loop on bottom with an adjustable long hook aluminum buttplate. Accompanied by a Springfield Research Service letter identifying this rifle as an M1922, heavy bbl that was sold by Springfield Armory to L.H. Reynolds of Orlando, Florida on Oct. 24, 1930. This is a truly exceptional & rare rifle. PROVENANCE: Burt Kellerstadt Collection. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Bbl & receiver retain most of an old professionally restored finish. Wood is sound with a series of small gouges on left side of wrist, a couple of small bruises & minor scratches elsewhere with sanding marks near buttplate & retains most of its orig oil finish.
