*RARE ENGRAVED FARMINGDALE SHILOH SHARPS RIFLE. Cal 45-3-1/4. SN 001. Spectacular engraved Sharps Rifle with 34” oct bbl, globe front sight and mid-range vernier tang sight. The wood is beautifully figured walnut with semi-schnable tip forearm and pistol grip stock with cheek piece and checkered hard rubber buttplate. The receiver is full coverage engraved in foliate arabesque patterns with stippled background having a standing wolf on the left side and a buffalo head on the right side. The lever, hammer and lockplate are matching engraved. The left side of the receiver is marked with the makers name and address and hand engraved “ERVD.T.MORO-1979”. The end of the lower tang is checkered and fitted with DBL set triggers. Accompanied by its original cardboard shipping box which contains a handwritten letter from Wolfgang A. Droege dated Oct 8, 1996, addressed to “Mr. Richard Czerwinski” of Clarksville, TN. The letter states that their records show that this rifle was delivered to C. Sharps Farms in 1978 and that they were a sporting goods dealer in Washington state and it is signed Wolfgang A. Droege who was the President and owner of Shiloh Sharps Rifles. Also included is a handwritten latter dated Sept 24, 1996 to Mr. Droege asking for information. A copy of another letter is addressed to Mr. John Schaffstall of Big Timber, MT which states that, in addition to the 1996 letter, Mr. Droege provided information over the phone that he had presented the rifle to Mr. Schaffstall for the Richmond, Washington show. CONDITION: Rifle is as new, probably unfired, retaining virtually all its original factory finish to both metal and wood. One tang sight screw is slightly boogered.
