*MARLIN MODEL 410 LEVER ACTION SHOTGUN. Cal. 410. SN 6745. Blue finish with 26” tapered rnd bbl, sgl bead with no provision for a rear sight and a matted stripe down top of receiver. Mounted with nicely figured, slab sawed, uncheckered American walnut with an unusual replacement forearm that has a modified hand stop. Buttstock has the serpentine pistol grip and a Marlin hard rubber buttplate with chipped toe. About 6,500 of these unusual shotguns were made in period 1929-1932 and were used primarily as premiums when someone purchased four shares of Marlin preferred stock. CONDITION: Good to very good. Bbl retains 88-90% orig blue, somewhat thinned over forearm. Receiver retains 93-95% strong orig blue and lever about 85% dark case colors, brighter on sides. Wood is sound with forearm retaining most of its custom finish and buttstock about 75% of a restored finish. Mechanics are fine, bright shiny bore. 4-30226 JR220 (1,000-1,500)
