*U.S. MARKED WINCHESTER LOW WALL WINDER MUSKET. Cal. 22 Short. SN 123021. Standard low wall musket with 28” rnd bbl, pedestal mounted globe front sight and Lyman right-side receiver sight. It has uncheckered straight grain walnut wood with full length grasping groove forearm and straight stock with musket buttplate. It has metal nosecap and single band with integral sling loop and a corresponding sling loop in the buttstock and they contain a “Nobuckl” canvas sling. The top of the receiver behind the hammer is marked “U.S.” with a flaming bomb. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbl retains 93-95% original blue, thin toward the muzzle with a few spots of surface rust. Receiver retains about 95% bright original blue with the tangs a light brown patina. Wood is sound with minor scratches and scrapes and a bruise and retains most of its fine oil finish. Hammer does not cock on closing, otherwise the mechanics are fine, strong dark bore. 4-52864 JR366 (600-1,000)
