RARE UMBRELLA SWORD. We’ve never seen another one. This is a most unusual Victorian protection device. The black umbrella is fitted with a removable sword having a heavy carved Victorian ivory handle, a gold plated filigree band with a button release fitted at the end of the ivory, the 13-1/2” tapered and angled double-sided sword blade with deep engraved design on over 50% of the blade. SIZE: Overall length of umbrella is 32”. Ivory handle is 5” long. CONDITION: Ivory has various old-age cracks; nickeled blade is in very nice condition. The umbrella itself is used, and the material has some small damages. 4-51354 (600-1,200)
