Lot includes 1) Bowl with vignette of scholar and student. 2) Plate with vignette of scholars studying scrolls. 3) Large shell dish decorated with garden flowers and butterflies: The exterior decorated with crustaceans and clams, signed on interior. 4) Creamer decorated overall with butterflies fitted with a lid in the form of a leaf. 5) Kutani coffee can. The exterior paint decorated with floral and scenic panels, the interior with rows of verse. 6) Earthenware teapot in matte glaze decorated overall with flowers in pastel colors on brown ground. SIZE: 1) 8-1/2″ dia. 2) 8-1/2″ dia. 3) 7-3/4″ x 5-1/2″ 4) 3-1/2″ h. 5) 2-3/4″ dia. 6) 6″ h. PROVENANCE: From the private collection of Dorothy-Lee Jones. CONDITION: Shell with craquelure and wear to glaze on exterior. Lid not well fitted to creamer. The handle of teapot mounted with lead insulators.
