RARE “ROYAL” SATSUMA TEACUP AND SAUCER TOGETHER WITH DECORATED SATSUMA TEABOWL. 19th century. First decorated with shaped reserves, each with group of people , on polychrome floral ground. Teacup decorated on interior with dense flock of polychrome butterflies. Saucer similarly decorated in center. Maker’s mark on bottom of each. Teabowl decorated with series of pale blue rondels, each paint decorated with different animal within gilt decorated border. SIZE: Cup: 1-3/4″ h. Saucer: 4-1/4″ dia. Bowl: 2″ h x 3-3/4″ dia.
