FRANCIS HOPKINSON SMITH (American, 1838-1915) A LAZY AFTERNOON. Watercolor landscape scene shows a summer afternoon near a pond with a large rowboat and two figures. Signed lower left “F Hopkinson Smith 82″. A well accomplished artist, he, along with Quarterly and Reinhart were part of the artist colony at Cold Spring Harbor. Housed in a nice gilt frame with decorated matte. SIZE: 11-3/4″ x 15-3/4”. CONDITION: Very good with a couple of spots on the top edge. 9-96381 (1,500-2,200)
