ARTHUR LINGQUIST (American, 1889-1975) “BACKYARDS IN WINTER, LONDONDERRY, VT”. Large oil on canvas scene shows several houses in a snow covered Vermont landscape. A yellow clapboard house has connected red barn with privy. Blue mountains are seen in the background. Signed lower right “A. Lingquist”. Housed in a fine wide molded wood gilt frame. Title on top of back stretcher. Lingquist is best known for his Vermont subjects but also painted the coast of Maine and around Rocky Neck on Cape Ann where he spent many summers. SIZE: 25” x 30”.
