*FANTASTIC FACTORY ENGRAVED & GOLD PLATED CASED SMITH & WESSON 32 DOUBLE ACTION 4TH MODEL REVOLVER. SN 216770. Cal. 32 S&W. Spectacular little auto ejecting revolver with 3-1/2″ keyhole shape bbl, pinned half moon front sight & fixed rear sight as part of the bbl latch. Top of rib has 2-line address with last patent date “1889”. Mounted with 2-pc smooth pearl grips with deep gold S&W medallions. Revolver is very tastefully factory engraved with about 35-40% coverage foliate arabesque patterns with punch dot background. It has matching engraving patterns on sides of bbl, bbl lug, top strap & back strap with more matching patterns on lands between the flutes of the cylinder. Accompanied by a beautiful orig oak casing with cream colored doeskin lining, recessed in bottom for the revolver and with a raised bracket containing a twisted wire handle bristle brush. Although a number of these little Smith & Wesson revolvers were engraved & plated they are rarely found today in such elegant orig condition. CONDITION: Extraordinarily fine, all matching except grips which are unnumbered. Overall retains virtually all of its orig factory gold-plated finish with only some very minor flaking on right side of bbl lug and around right side of hinge. There is another small flaked spot on right side of frame. Mechanics are crisp, brilliant shiny bore, new & unfired. Case is equally new. 4-40583 JR74 (5,000-7,000)
