FRAMED DIORAMA WITH STUFFED SPOONBILL. This wonderful taxidermy presentation has a standing pink and white Spoonbill on a small stump with marsh grass and leaves beside. The oval backdrop is oil painted with a scene reminiscent of the everglades with water, islands and moss hanging off trees. The inner matte, which goes from oval to square, is of a crushed red velvet. The outer frame is pierce carved with foliate scrolls. The front glass has a large bulging oval bubble housing the picture and bird. PROVENANCE: From a fine Corrina, Maine home. SIZE: Overall is 48” x 31”. CONDITION: Very good. 9-28562 (500-1000)
