AMERICAN ROSEWOOD TWO-DRAWER WORK TABLE. Circa 1870. The rectangular hinged lid with molded tray edge opening to an interior fitted with compartments, the inner lid mirrored. The case with simulated top drawer, ropetwist mid-molding above a long drawer over stepped ropetwist base molding, fitted below with canted work drawer, raised on four spiral twist ring-turned columns, joined to shaped and scalloped outswept trestle supports, joined by a spiral twist and ring-turned stretcher. SIZE: 31″ h. x 23″ w. x 15-3/4″ d. PROVENANCE: From an extensive private Gulf Coast collection. CONDITION: Table original throughout, missing some dividers. Accordion hinge for lid sticking.
