*FINE COLT MODEL 1903 POCKET HAMMER SEMI-AUTO PISTOL. SN 40529. Cal. 38 ACP. Blue finish with 4-1/2″ bbl, fixed sights and a spur hammer. Mounted with factory Colt medallion smooth pearl grips. Accompanied by one orig all blue magazine with marked base. The 1903 Pocket Hammer pistol is an adaptation of the Model 1902 simply with shortened bbl slide and frame. There were only about 26,000 of these pistols produced in the period 1903-1929 with the serial numbering intermixed in the 1902 military model series. These pistols were popular with both police and in the civilian market for their stopping power and ease of concealment. PROVENANCE: John Irwin Estate Collection. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Overall retains about 98% strong orig factory blue with only minor sharp edge wear and some light freckling on the slide. Grips are sound with great fire & color.
