VERY RARE SWISS FIELD ARMORER’S TOOL SATCHEL. SN NSN. Fine, well made leather satchel about 11-1/2″ wide x 4-1/2″ deep x 7-1/2″ high with a full top flap with straps & buckles and a front pouch containing maintenance manuals for pistols & the other for the Sturmgewehr 57 machine gun. Shoulder strap is marked “F. DARDEL / SATTLER / AARBERG”. Inside satchel is a canvas & leather tool roll containing a set of armorer’s tools including a small vice, pliers, screwdrivers, various specialized punches, a small anvil, a small file & other unidentified small tools. Also inside satchel are three leather drawstring pouches containing a great variety of small parts for machine guns, rifles & pistols, altogether a hundred or more small parts. It is believed that only a very small handful of these rare satchels have ever been imported into United States. PROVENANCE: Doug Smith Collection. CONDITION: Satchel & manuals are extremely fine with the satchel lightly to moderately soiled but completely sound & intact with soft supple leather. Inside top flap is missing a long tool. Tool roll is extremely fine with all tools retaining most of their orig arsenal finish.
