*WINCHESTER HIGH WALL WINDER MUSKET.

*WINCHESTER HIGH WALL WINDER MUSKET. Cal. 22 LR. SN 117977. Standard winder musket with 28” rnd bbl, pedestal mounted combination front sight, windage adjustable military rear sight. The wood is straight grain American walnut with full length grasping groove forearm, metal nosecap and single band with integral sling loop and a corresponding sling loop in the buttstock. The buttstock has straight grip with smooth musket buttplate. CONDITION: Very fine plus. Bbl retains about 95% strong original blue, slightly dulled over the top with scattered light fine surface etching and a few nicks near the muzzle with an area of cleaned surface rust. Receiver retains about 95% dull original finish, flaking on the right side with light edge wear and tangs turning brown. Lever has a cleaned spot of pitting. Wood is sound with a few scattered handling and use marks and retains most of its original oil finish. Fine mechanics, slightly frosted bore. 4-52874 JR376 (1,000-1,500)
