*COLT MODEL 1902 MILITARY SEMI-AUTO PISTOL. SN 14455. Cal. 38 ACP. Produced in 1903 this fine pistol has blue finish with 6″ bbl, fixed sights, checkered front serrations on slide with a slide lock and lanyard loop on left side of frame. Mounted with Colt hard rubber grips and has a rnd spur hammer. Total production of these pistols amounted to about 18,000 from 1902 to 1929. They remained very popular with precision shooters well into the mid-1950’s due to their fine fit and accuracy and today are rarely found with high orig finish. PROVENANCE: John Irwin Estate Collection. CONDITION: Very fine. Slide retains about 95% glossy orig blue with muzzle & sharp edge wear and light handling & use marks. Frame retains 75-80% glossy orig blue with blue/gray front & back straps. Grips are sound showing light diamond point wear. Mechanics are crisp, bright shiny bore with some scattered fine pitting. 4-36811 JR46 (3,000-5,000)
