SHARPS MODEL 1874 JP LOWER RIFLE.

SHARPS MODEL 1874 JP LOWER RIFLE. Cal 45. SN 160018. Standard rifle with 30” medium weight oct bbl, about 14 lbs with German silver Rocky Mountain front sight and Sharps ladder rear sight, missing the slide. It has uncheckered wood with straight stock and semi-crescent carbine style buttplate. The top flat of the bbl is marked “J.P.LOWER/DENVERCO” and the right flat by the rear sight is also stamped “LOWER”. CONDITION: About good. No original finish remains with the metal being a medium to dark brown patina with some light rust. The forearm has a couple of cracks and several grain checks and is missing portions of the upper edges on both sides. The stock has a crack through the wrist and is missing one large chip and a couple of smaller ones by the top tang. The top tang is cracked through the upper screwhole. The bore has strong rifling with moderate pitting. 4-50926 JR13 (4,000-6,000)
