Correction: As a result of intensive investigation of this pistol, Julia’s cannot and will not guarantee this to be a genuine Singer pistol.

*RARE SINGER MODEL 1911 A1 SEMI-AUTO MILITARY PISTOL. SN S800032. Cal. 45ACP. Blue finish with 5″ unmarked military bbl. Slide has correct Singer markings “S. MFG. CO. / ELIZABETH, N.J.,U.S.A.” on the left side of the slide. Left side of frame has small “JKC” (Lt. Col. John K. Christmas) inspector initials. Right side of frame has the usual “UNITED STATES PROPERTY M 1911 A1 U.S. ARMY” and serial number marking which has an “S” prefix. It is mounted with checkered brown plastic grips without donut reinforcements and without interior reinforcements. This rare pistol is 1 of only 500 produced by the Singer Sewing Machine Co. in 1942 on contract to the US Government. Past research has shown that the majority of these pistols were issued to the US Navy and most of those were lost at sea or modified in some way with slides separated from frames etc., etc. They are rarely found today in original configuration and original finish. PROVENANCE: Alan Brown Coll. CONDITION: Very fine. As completely and professionally refinished. Overall retains bright blue with clear legible markings. Right side of frame has a few minor pits and a weld area on the bottom in front of the frame markings. Front strap also has a couple of small weld spots. These appear to have been applied to fill rust pits prior to refinishing. These spots are not readily visible and only show under extremely strong light. Magazine retains most of its restored finish. Mechanics are fine. Bright shiny bore. 4-39344 JR264 (10,000-20,000)
