JOHN HENRY BELTER “ROSALIE” PATTERN ROSEWOOD LAMINATED SLIPPER CHAIR. Circa 1855. The floral and fruit carved crest terminating in grape clusters continuing to serpentine laminated scrolling stiles centering the tufted upholstered back, joined to the shaped overupholstered seat above the serpentine floral-carved molded seat rail, raised on frontal molded cabriole legs terminating in scrolled leaftips, raised on brass casters. SIZE: 35-1/2″ h. of back. PROVENANCE: From an extensive private Gulf Coast collection. CONDITION: Very fine overall, with old highly polished surfaces. Repair to proper left rear leg at caster.
