J.H. BELTER CARVED MAHOGANY SEWING TABLE, FROM THE BELTER WORKSHOP. Mid-19th century. The rectangular sarcophagus hinged lid with concave sides opening to an interior fitted with compartments, above the frieze with simulated drawer above a compartmented drawer, above the bottom drawer having a pierce-carved shell and leaftip facade, raised on four serpentine legs joined by shaped cross stretchers with oval medial platform.
