*RARE 1902 LUGER CARBINE. Cal. 30 Luger. SN 23741. Wonderful carbine with 11-3/4″ tapered rnd bbl, ramp front sight with silver bead and 300-meter sliding ramp rear sight. It has “DWM” on the toggle, 2nd type grip safety, and 3rd type thumb safety with wide trigger guard and narrow trigger. It has full-checkered walnut grips with a checkered schnable tip splinter forearm and matching numbered buttstock with checkered wrist and serrated horn buttplate. The magazine has a stainless body with properly unnumbered wood base. Accompanied by what appears to be an orig brown leather sling. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Retains 97-98% strong bright orig blue overall with only fine edge wear and slight thinning on the sideplate with a few freckles of light surface spotting on the grip safety at the top of the backstrap and a few spots on the front strap. Retains about all of the orig straw colors on everything except the thumb safety, which has faded to silver. All matching numbered except the magazine, as noted, and the grips, the left of which is unnumbered and the right has a small “05” with a small “V” and a large “V” and a number “1”. Left grip certainly appears orig to this pistol and even though the right grip is mi-numbered it fits nearly perfectly. Stock & forearm are sound and retain most of an old light refinish. Mechanics are fine, strong bright bore with very fine pitting. Sling is fine. A really great carbine in super condition. 4-53721 JR488 (15,000-25,000)
