MAYNARD MODEL 16 DELUXE SINGLE SHOT RIFLE. Cal 32 and 22 CF. SN 4006. 2 bbl set consisting of a 26” oct to round cal 32 bbl and a 32” oct to round cal 22 CF bbl. Both have forearms attached. The 32 bbl has a German silver blade Rocky Mountain front sight and the 22 bbl a globe front sight. The 22 bbl also has a dovetail near the front of the top flat and the top flat is drilled and tapped with 4 holes for scope bases. The buttstock is very nicely figured flame grain walnut with checkered pistol grip and cheek piece with nickel brass Swiss buttplate. The top tang is mounted with a Maynard mid-range tang sight graduated to 1200 yds. The 32 bbl is numbered “4523” and the 22 bbl is numbered “11280”. CONDITION: 32 bbl retains about 90% original blue with light surface spotting and 2 larger spots of rust about mid point. Forearm has a crack above the tip and retains traces of original finish. Strong bore with good shine and some pitting. 22 bbl retains 30-40% thin blue with the balance a light patina and light surface rust. Forearm has a crack on each side and retains about 80% strong varnish. Strong bore. Receiver retains 80-85% mottled dark case colors. Stock has a repaired crack through the wrist and retains most of an old refinish. Buttplate retains about 90% milky original nickel. Tang sight is fine. 4-50792 JR58 (1,500-2,500)
