ENGRAVED WINCHESTER MODEL 1886 TAKEDOWN LEVER ACTION RIFLE.

ENGRAVED WINCHESTER MODEL 1886 TAKEDOWN LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 45-90. SN 92868. Beautiful ’86 with 26” oct bbl, full magazine, half nickel front sight & semi-buckhorn rear sight. Mounted with nicely figured, uncheckered, American walnut with straight stock & crescent buttplate. Receiver & lever are very nicely, after market engraved with large vignette of a raised, leaping, silver, whitetail buck on left side and a raised silver bear’s head on bottom. Both sides and bottom of receiver are outlined with gold wire and has complete coverage intertwined foliate arabesque patterns with a stippled background. Loading gate on right side is also outlined with gold wire. CONDITION: Very fine. Retains virtually all of its fine custom finish to both metal & wood. Wood has a few minor nicks & scratches and magazine tube shows some light wear around bbl band. There is some slight rust pimpling on bbl about mid-point. Mechanics are fine, very bright shiny bore with a spot or two of fine pitting. 4-30861 JR212 (3,500-5,000)
