OUTSTANDING AND RARE IROQUOIS INDIAN BASKETRY WORKED CORNER WHATNOT SHELF. Four graduated shelves with large open shelf area below. Piece is entirely worked in splint basketry work with loop and scroll decoration. Removable triangular shelves, rest on six wrapped wood legs. Fancy removable top crest. Fine honey colored patina. This is the largest basketry piece this firm has seen. Late 19th/20th century. SIZE: 88 1/2″ h x 33 1/2″ w x 16″ d. CONDITION: Remarkably fine, with one break to crest scroll and two loops missing. 9-91326 (4,500-5,500)
