JOSEPH THORS (American, 1843-1898) THE DUCK POND. Large oil on canvas English countryside scene shows a woman and three ducks near a small pond with nearby house flanked by trees. A figure is in a cultivated field with another house beyond. All under a blue and white cloud sky. A nice detailed scene. Housed in a magnificent period deep and wide gesso decorated gilt frame with gilt liner having artist name and dates. Painting appears to be unsigned. SIZE: 20” x 30”. CONDITION: Two patches to reverse, minor inpainting. Very good. 9-90133 LG (6,000-8,000)
