SCARCE WILKINS HORSEDRAWN STREET SWEEPER. A toy that was elusive to Bob & Jackie for many years until this one became available at the infamous Hegarty auction. A delicate casting encasing a circular brush. When pulled along floor it simulates the real life actions of an 1890’s street sweeper. Enameled in black with red yoke and wheels, the driver sits atop taking command of his horse. The rear of the sweeper is marked “D.P.W.” (Department of Public Works). SIZE: 12 1/2″.
