F.G. FRENCH FASHION DOLL. Late 1880’s Gauthier doll with bisque swivel head on kid lined separate bisque shoulder plate. Head is incised “2”, shoulder has “F” on one side and “G” on the other. Her most outstanding features are her pale blue paperweight eyes and pale bisque with rosy cheeks. The all leather fashion body is gusseted at the elbows, hips and knees and she wears her original dark blond mohair wig in up swept braids and black antique leather slippers as well as a two piece patterned cotton dress with silk ribbon and lace trim. SIZE: 16-1/2″ (42cm). CONDITION: Bisque head and shoulder are very good to excellent. Body has some wear and minor patching with both hands whitewashed and two fingers loose on right hand. 1-8492 RS (1,800-2,500)
