HOLLAND & HOLLAND MINIATURE COMBLAIN STALKING RIFLE. Cal 360 rook. NSN. Extremely rare little rifle, reportedly 1 of only 6 known with 28” tapered oct bbl, full matted top with tiny brass bead front sight and three leaf, platinum line express sight graduated to 150 meters. It has a tiny flat side receiver with falling block action and a tiny, heavy trigger guard/lever. It has 2-pc stock and forearm of nicely figured walnut with splinter forearm with horn tip and straight stock with smooth steel buttplate with trap. The top left flat of the bbl is marked with the makers name and the top right flat with their Bond St. address. The receiver and upper tang are lightly engraved with fine arabesque patterns, about 30% coverage. The top of the wrist has three small holes, apparently from having a peep sight attached. CONDITION: Bbl retains about 80% original blue turning plum with a few minor spots of surface rust. Receiver retains dark case colors under a heavy coating of old oil with moderate pitting on the right side, on the top and bottom tangs. Wood, as noted, is sound showing moderate wear with some light bruises in the checkering and retains most of a very old restored finish. Strong bright bore with light pitting. 4-50252 JR198 (1,500-2,500)
