*EXTREMELY RARE MAUSER G41(M) BOLT ACTION/SEMI-AUTO GERMAN MILITARY RIFLE.

*EXTREMELY RARE MAUSER G41(M) BOLT ACTION/SEMI-AUTO GERMAN MILITARY RIFLE. SN 591. Cal. 8X57 mm. Extremely rare & unusual German rifle with 22″ rnd bbl with shrouded muzzle, ramp front sight with hood & 1,200 meter rear sight. Mounted in a straight grain, uncheckered 1-pc walnut stock with short walnut handguard. This most unusual rifle is magazine fed from a 5-rd box magazine below receiver & functions in both bolt action & semi-automatic mode. This is obviously a rather costly & labor intensive rifle to manufacture which would have not been viable on a wartime footing. Therefore not many were made & few survive intact in orig condition. This rifle has either a bullet or shrapnel damage on bayonet lug & left rear edge of the shroud. Bottom of stock has serial number & a “WaA 135” Waffenampt with another Waffenampt on bottom of wrist and still another one on left side of butt. Metal parts have tiny eagle “135” Waffenampts with all visible parts so marked. Accompanied by an orig smooth brown leather sling. PROVENANCE: Doug Smith Collection. CONDITION: Very fine, all visible parts are matching numbered. Overall metal retains 96-97% orig blue, strong on bbl & front half of receiver with magazine box, trigger guard & back half of receiver turning plum. Stock is sound with nicks, scratches & dings as one would expect to be found on a combat used rifle. Mechanics are crisp, brilliant shiny bore. Sling is very fine. 4-36158 JR253 (15,000-20,000)
