*COLT PRE-WAR SUPER 38 SEMI-AUTO PISTOL. SN 25894. Cal. 38 Super. Blue finish with 5″ bbl and fixed sights with full checkered walnut grips and an orig 2-tone magazine with marked base. Slide has usual markings with rampant Colt on right side. Accompanied by a Colt factory letter identifying this pistol in caliber 38 Super with 5″ bbl, blue finish, type of stocks not listed and shipped to Rice & Miller, Bangor, Maine on April 15, 1937 in a 1-gun shipment. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Overall retains 96-97% strong, glossy orig factory blue with only light muzzle end wear and some faint sharp edge wear. Right side of slide below ejection port and one spot on right side of frame have light cleaned areas where someone got carried away with steel wool. Front strap is a little thin. Grips are sound with a few chipped diamonds showing light wear with a clean oiled finish. Mechanics are crisp, brilliant shiny bore. 4-40681 JR169 (2,500-3,500)
