ATTRIBUTED TO J.H. BELTER: CARVED ROCOCO ROSEWOOD MARBLE TOP CENTER TABLE. Circa 1860. The oval Carrera marble top with serpentine “bull nose” edges fitted to the conforming frieze, profusely and ornately carved with floral sprays, raised on four floral-and-foliate carved cabriole legs joined by a carved serpentine “X” stretcher centering a large carved finial in the form of a floral bouquet, the whole raised on wooden casters within brass fittings. SIZE: 29-1/2″ overall h. x 43-3/4″ l. x 35-1/2″ w. PROVENANCE: From an extensive private Gulf Coast collection. CONDITION: Marble well matched to base, with no stains or imperfections noted. Table retains original finish with dark chocolate patina. One stretcher with seam repair at juncture to leg. Small old professional repairs to frieze at juncture with legs. 9-93359 (25,000-40,000)
