*RARE PRE-WAR NATIONAL MATCH SEMI-AUTO PISTOL. Cal. 45 ACP. SN C182524. 1911A1 configuration Government model, blued finish with rare fixed sights. The left side of the slide has usual markings and the right side is marked “NATIONAL MATCH”. It also has in tiny lettering “GOVERNMENT MODEL” just above the serial number. It is fitted with full-checkered walnut grips and an orig 2-tone commercial magazine with Colt marked base. It is accompanied by its orig dark maroon hinged lid box with blue & white end label and the serial number penciled on the bottom. There is also a penciled name on the bottom that appears to be “Peter Johnson / c/o H.B. Warren” with a price of “$22.14”. CONDITION: Exceptionally fine, possibly unfired. Retains about 99% strong orig factory charcoal blue with a few tiny nicks on the front strap and only the hint of sharp edge wear. Grips are crisp with brilliant shiny bore. Box has a couple of skinned edges with slightly fuzzed corners but is completely intact. 4-53930 JR502 (2,000-3,000)
