*RARE COLT GOVERNMENT MODEL SERIES 80 SEMI-AUTO PISTOL WITH GERMAN PROOFS. SN FG70472. Cal. 45 ACP. Standard Government Model with blue finish, 5″ bbl, fixed sights & full checkered gold medallion walnut grips. It has standard Series 80 slide & frame markings with German proofs on bbl & right side of frame with an additional proof on right side above magazine release identical to one on bbl. Consignor, who has extensive contacts in Germany where he obtained this pistol, states that this pistol & another in caliber 45 ACP were shipped to Germany as test pieces. Accompanied by a Colt Series 70 1-pc wood grain box with Styrofoam insert & a German label on end flap over label. PROVENANCE: Doug Smith Collection. CONDITION: Extremely fine plus, as new.
