DANIEL FRASER SIDE LEVER SINGLE SHOT RIFLE. Cal 303 British. SN 3406. Only 410 of these actions were ever made. It has the additional feature of a takedown lever on the left side which releases the bbl to be unscrewed. The internal parts are gold washed. The bottom of the bbl is marked with the no. 2406 while the serial number is 3406 – Almost certainly an assemblers error? It is mounted in nicely grained, checkered, pistol grip, walnut stock and checkered, rounded, schnabled tip forearm. The stock is 14-1/2” over a checkered horn buttplate with capped pistol grip and a shallow cheek piece. The receiver, top tang, floorplate, and trigger guard are border engraved in rope patterns. The top tang has a small gold inlay marked “Safe” and when the safety is pushed off it exposes a red dot. The stock has a hidden sling eye with a corresponding safari sling eye on the bbl. Ex-John Amber collection. CONDITION: Bbl retains about 92-94% strong original blue with light muzzle wear and minor wear under the forearm. Receiver retains most of its muted English style case colors and the trigger guard & floor plate 65-70% original blue. Wood is sound with the stock and forearm retaining most of their fine original oil finish. Stock has several dings on the left side where something repeatedly bumped it. Bright shiny bore. 4-50253 JR204 (8,500-12,500)
