*RARE WINCHESTER MODEL 1892 TRAPPER CARBINE. Cal. 44 WCF (44-40). SN 808982. Standard grade carbine with 16” rnd bbl, square base front sight & a carbine ladder rear sight. There is a staple & ring in left side of receiver. Mounted with uncheckered, gumwood stock & forearm with straight grip & carbine buttplate. Majority of these rare carbines were shipped to South America and are seldom ever encountered in the U.S. CONDITION: Good to very good. Traces of orig finish remain in most sheltered areas of bbl, magazine tube & receiver with balance a mottled, dark patina with fine pitting. Lever screw is battered. Forearm has a long crack at tip with another crack at receiver end and some rust damage around the receiver end of forearm. Stock is sound with a couple of plugged holes near the toe and all the wood retains a modern refinish. Mechanics are fine, bright shiny bore with a ring about 4” or 5” from muzzle that doesn’t show on outside. 4-30098 JR237 (3,000-5,000)
