THREE CONTINENTAL PAINT-DECORATED TABLE WARES. 18th/19th century. Including two footed saucers with cup inserts, both hand painted with allegorical scenes of classical landscapes. One cup depicting Minerva drawn by horses mounted in a large shell accompanied by trumpet blowing centaurs. The second cup depicting a young man with dog receiving the blessings of a man in a blue robe and cape. The third example, a 7-1/2″ plate, decorated with a central mountainous landscape; a lone figure in the foreground, bordered with frolicking putti amongst floral sprays. SIZE: 7″ dia. (saucers); 2-3/4″ h x 2-3/4″ dia. (cups) PROVENANCE: From the private collection of Dorothy-Lee Jones. CONDITION: The single plate with old restoration on rim and some minor enamel losses around sides of plate. One cup with some minor old rim flecks. Otherwise all very good. 9-23230 (250-400)
