UNMARKED VERY HEAVY PERCUSSION BENCH RIFLE. Cal about 46. Fine target rifle with 31-3/4” heavy oct bbl, 1-1/2” across the flats with original false muzzle. The top of the bbl is mounted with a 38-3/4” Amadon scope in original mounts. It has German silver furniture with fancy trigger guard/grip with DBL set triggers and a serpentine arabesque inlay on the left side of the wrist. It has an ornate 2-pc engraved German silver patchbox and fine German silver crescent buttplate with a long engraved toeplate. The back action lock is nicely engraved in Arabesque patterns. The rear scope mount is marked “L.Amadon/B.Falls/VT”. CONDITION: Fine. The iron retains an even medium brown patina with some minor nicks on the bbl and vice marks near the middle on the side flats. Scope is matching condition, optics need cleaning. Buttstock is sound with several nicks, scratches, and bruises with a wood screw through the wrist and retains most of an old refinish.
